This was purchased as a new iphone7, and was indeed received in original packaging. However, when my SIM card from my previous phone was inserted, this phone did not work.
A local repair shop examined it, and found that it has a motherboard issue, and that an Apple store (at a 2 hr distance), would not be able to repair it either. I ve had to buy another new phone elsewhere (which is working with my original SIM card). The entire experience has been very disappointing.
