Fits my 98 Subaru Outback automatic just fine. One of the pigtail connectors was only 4 wire when mine was 5. This might have something to do with the valet parking the car came with but I don't need or care about. Was concerned there might a computer coding issue but no problem and car starts with new keys just fine. This was the first step to solving a starting issue which happens only after long drives on hot days.
