The item is brand new, it is simply factual. It has been out of production for over 10 years. The glue on blister packaging becomes very weak and while it was definitely attached when we shipped it - it is possible that it got separated (opened, as you put it) while in transit to you. Thank you and I wish you would simply email us with your concern
