It could be used for dispensing many items with its unique predetermined dispensed amount mechanism such as Coffee, Tea, Salt, Sugar, Nuts etc. I've never seen another one. Is stamped PAT'D MAY 18, 1915. The Original glass sphere is about 8" D. and has no cracks or chips. The cast iron 3 legged stand and rod have minor surface rust. The non magnetic lid and dispensing mechanism have slight oxidation. Dispensing mechanism works well and freely. Overall it is solid and very good condition for age. I have included pictures. Please view pictures for best description.”
