315 Universal Marine and Salvage

Visit my eBay store315 Universal Marine and Salvage

Picked up this beauty a few weeks back and had a couple watchers. Someone stepped forward and bought the kickplate. (The part off to the side in pic. # 3) So thats gone.  The more I take it apart the more apparent it becomes it`s an ancient. NO FIBERGLASS INSULATION ! I recently dismantled a 1951 one and that one had old time fiberglass inside. This one has corrugated paper for insulation. (at least 10 layers thick up top) and cotton stuffing for the seams and in other critical areas.

It`s a model B6 40. Located the second sticker way up high on the underside of the food compartment dead center behind the kickplate. Whether late 40`s or even late 30`s I`m not sure.  FYI`s more than welcome !

This ad is for the top piece. There are 4 small hexhead sheetmetal screws in back. 2 of them hold a grommet which all your lines run through . They have to be removed as well as the ones on the end. There are two brackets in front that hook the lip of the top piece. I cut the lines on my fridge hence the grommet piece is still attached. You`ll have to remove it whether or not you need it for re-install. I`m also including the brackets in front. The anchoring screws for those are the two uppermost outside edge ones of the corners of the door jam. They will be the long machine screws, not the sheet metal ones elsewhere holding the door jam trim down.

Picture 1 is of the fridge before dismantling. # 2 of the top plate you`re buying with this ad and # 3 is of the sticker behind the kickplate described above.

It`s the top panel of the fridge. Rubber gasket looks good to very good. There is a number stamped there. It is 118-1B190.

Semi scratched up. No serious dents. A couple spots, the  beginnings of rust on the back edge.
