The item itself is really not useful to use on the arm of my chair. There is no grip on the sides it is so easy to tip. I have already lost a cup full of coffee as the tray simply did not hold. The tray could I supose be used as a small lap tray but it should not be used on the arm of a chair. It sticks out so it is easily knocked and as the spring sides have no grip tit is easily tippped.
