These are super high quality Moroccan leather (Goat leader) poufs that come from the souks of Marrakesh. Super soft!. These poufs are hand-made and stitched by Moroccan professional ladies in Marrakesh. These are great for low and intimate seating or can be used as a table or foot stool.

A Moroccan pouf is a popular and versatile home accessory for any small-space urban dweller. A pouf can be used as a footstool, end table, extra seating and even storage.

Moroccan poufs have been popularized by designers like John Derian and Jonathan Adler over the past few years. A lavender John Derian pouf appeared on the cover of the May 2009 issue of Elle Decor.

All poufs have zippers discretely placed at the bottom for easy stuffing. They can be filled with unused fabric, old clothes or other eco-friendly materials, however they can also be filled with standard polystyrene balls that can be found at your local craft store.

You can also stuff the pouf with tightly crumbled paper, rags, old clothes, blankets and so forth.

How to Stuff a Leather Pouf

1.      Unfold the leather and let it air out, perhaps in a garage or covered outdoor area. Don't worry yet about creases and folds in the leather, since the filling will help to stretch these open. Air the leather as long as you wish to reduce any residual odors from the curing or coloring of the leather.

2.      Gather filling material. You can use ordinary filling, such as you can purchase for pillows. However, it will serve as a sturdier footstool or seat if the filling is firmer than the usual polyester fluff. Thus, try plastic grocery bags, instead. They are inexpensive and plentiful, and packed tightly, they are quite firm. They will also give your finished pouf a pleasant heft. You will need a lot.

3.      Open the pouf. Look for a built-in opening, such as laces or a zipper.

4.      Pack the filling firmly into the pouf. As it starts to fill, make sure all parts are filled evenly.

5.      Adjust the shape of the pouf. Push the filling around from inside or outside until it is firm and even, not too lumpy or lopsided. Fill the bag completely.

6.      Close up the pouf. Lace, tie, sew, or zip it tightly closed.

7.      Roll the pouf or press on its sides to adjust the overall shape.

8. Plop your pouf in front of your favorite chair and enjoy.
